Synopsis

     There´s one thing I loved about Insurgent right away: it starts just after the point Divegent ended; it actually seems like the author didn´t even had the thought of creating a trilogy in the beggining, so smooth is the conection between the books. This is an awesome follow-up, so explosive throughout all the pages. 
     After Tris´s Initiation Ceremony, the world as she knew was never the same. The war was set. The factions got disestablished, and the reader gets into a frenetic pace reading. During a war, we´ve got to choose sides and to make choices - in less than a second - that will affect your life forever. Tris will suffer the loss of many of her friends through Insurgent. The heavy weight she and Tobias are carrying make things get complicated between them.
     Insurgent means "rising in active revolt" or "a rebel or a revolutionary". I think it describes really well the purpose of the book: Tris and her friends are rebelling against the system which is tried to be set in this society that is falling apart. I see this book as a good opportunity for the reader to get insider of the faction-based world they live (lived) in, as we can experience how life is like in almost all of the factions headquarters. Every detail here is important for the upcoming book - Allegiant - as it brings answers for the whole mysterious puzzle, mostly after a big truth is revealed at the end of the book, leaving the reader even more anxious for the continuation. 
     I could say Roth doesn´t hesitate to kill off characters, change the game completely or to recreate the storyline at every turn - you´ve got to be ready for intense emotions.
     I couldn´t be more satisfied with the DIvergent series; besides Veronica´s great ability to kill the people you most get attached to, it´s still worth it. The learning I get from a reading is the most important part for me and this series haven´t left me without it not even a moment.
